About Us

This is the story of The Fresh Cross Stitch. Learn how I decided to create this small business and what it means to shop my designs.

My thing with cross-stitch

My name is Ana Vilar, and I've been cross-stitching since childhood, though it was in 2017 that I fully committed to it.

Like many other cross-stitch pals all over the world, my mom taught me how to cross stitch when I was a child. Even though I liked it, I had trouble finding designs that I truly loved.

With time, I ended up drawing my own designs on the canvas and cross stitching all over them. Soon enough I thought: "Why not sharing my designs with other cross-stitch enthusiasts all over the world?".

The Fresh Cross Stitch Was Born

My small business was born when I decided to create a bunch of patterns and sell them online. It was the year 2022.

I soon noticed other stitchers liked my designs just as much as I did! Their kind words about my designs, their great reviews, and my belief in crafting as a source of joy were my motivation to keep on creating!

The creative process behind my patterns

Today I have a catalog of over 160 hand-crafted cross-stitch designs, each one made manually and with a lot of love. I draw inspiration from the things I cherish, like literature, food, and music. Each design begins its journey differently—sometimes with a chosen color palette, other times with a sketched composition. From there, I refine the details, ensuring the design is visually pleasant and efficient in thread usage.

Simpler patterns typically take at least two days to complete, while my more intricate creations can take months. I’m very rigorous about the final outcome and never publish a design that I don’t truly love!

Trustworthy patterns, friendly support

With time, I’ve been fortunate to share my patterns with +7,500 happy customers. My shop holds the Star Seller Badge on Etsy, a recognition for great customer service and +485 outstanding reviews.

I'm always happy to answer questions, provide stitching tips, or offer pattern support! You can drop a message any time by using the contact form.
